If you are reading this, I’m guessing you either know my mom, me, my family, or have been touched by her somehow. My mother is an amazing person whom I love with all of my heart, and am very proud to be her son. But at the moment my mom is in a battle with breast cancer. She has wanted so long for it to be a silent, somewhat solo battle, but I don’t want it to be like that anymore. I don’t want her to feel like she’s in this alone. My goal is to have my mom feel supported by a flood of positive mail, everyday. This is why I am asking for anyone and everyone to send positive thoughts or prayers my mom’s way, and also to just send her a note (send as many as you want) of support via the mail (information is below). The note doesn’t have to be long, detailed, or mushy. Don’t tell her “you’re sorry,” to hear of her condition, or that “you know it’s hard.” Please do not say anything of her condition. Please do not call or send her flowers because she does not like a lot of attention. Just let her know that she was in your thoughts and prayers, and she has your support. I also believe my mom needs to be reminded just how strong she is, as it is very difficult for her to feel strong in the midst of this. If you wish to include a good story, or upbeat memory please do. The only two things I do ask everyone who chooses to do this is to not mention this website and please write in the note “You do not have to respond to this in anyway, I just wanted to let you know I’m/we’re thinking of you.” A letter or note from you will be just what she needs to brighten each day and make the journey to recovery a little shorter.
